Adapt for Apraxia: Caps and Hats

$14.99

In this video I teach you how to Adapt for Apraxia. I use two activities that you can adapt for the child in your life with Apraxia of Speech. I also teach you about the 3 focuses I use, the method I use to treat Apraxia of Speech (DTTC), and how the individual nature of your child will direct the therapy process.

Adapt for Apraxia: Ruts and Hills

$14.99

In this video, I talk to you about a concept that I’ve just developed called “Ruts and Hills”. Something that I often find in my therapy with my clients is that once they develop a rut—an incorrect way to produce a word—it keeps getting reinforced until they are able to build some hills on top of the rut. Check out my video to learn more!

As always, these videos are not ever intended to replace skilled speech therapy services, but rather to supplement caregivers of those with apraxia of speech with additional information. Hope it helps!

Cognitive Communication Activities

Semantic Mapping Activity

$7.99

Use this activity to help your students/clients with word retrieval.

Use the map by putting a word in the middle (red cloud) and filling up the other shapes with words associated with the middle word.

For example, you put the word "dog" in the middle (red cloud). Your student says "cat", so you put that in the red square. Then you student says "leash", so you put that in the orange star.

If you want to break down each shape into even more categories, you can do so like this:

You have "cat" in the red square. You can determine that this shape will now contain other "pets", so you can fill it with "bird, rabbit, iguana, etc..."

You have "leash" in the orange start. You can determine that this shape will now contain other "dog accessories", so you can fill it with "bowl, collar, tags, etc..."
